The city of opera is an excellent choice for a budget weekend break, as prices are much lower than the UK. The city centre is easy to explore on foot, although there's an air conditioned metro system if you want to go further afield. Seville is at its best during spring (March-May). Big events like Semana Santa and Feria de Abril are in full swing, and the temperature is a very pleasant 20-26°C. The summer months (July-August) can be stiflingly hot, with temperatures sometimes reaching 40°C . The city can feel empty by day, but by night the streets are crowded with locals sipping frosty beers. Autumn (September to November) is the rainy season and during winter (December-February) the mercury hovers below 10°C. This is when you'll find the best deals on hotel rooms.
